Interior Design Games - Both Fun And Educational

As you know, there are games out for just about anything imagineable. Interior design games are no different. I never realized just how common they were until I really began to check them out. Some of the things I found out were quite surprising.

Did you know there is a game based on the HGTV show "Design Star" called Design Star Shuffle? Now this game isn't exactly what you would expect, but I guess you could say it is "loosely" based on the show.

The game is sort of like the boardgame "Rush Hour", only without the cars. Instead, players will be moving furniture like couches, chairs and more.

As interior design games go, this could have been made much better. I'm a little more than disappointed that HG couldn't have put more time and effort into it, but I guess that's just the way it is. I'm not even sure the game is still on their site or not. Response was not that favorable.

Interior Design Bingo

Another cute game is for kids in junior high and up. It's called "Interior Design Bingo". This game is designed to help teach kids all the terms and lingo of interior design in a fun way. As you identify the terms you place a chip on the square. The first person to get four in a row wins. The game comes with 30 different cards, clues and instructions. Surprisingly, they don't include the chips.

These are only two of the many different interior design games on the market. You can find many more by doing a simple online search. Most are not downloadable and can only be played on that particular site.

The best way to get a better grasp of interior design is to buy some design software and use it to move furniture around and practice with all sorts of color schemes and design modules.
